Police originally reported the vehicle as a pick-up truck.
According to police, the van was traveling northbound on Panhandle Trail when it veered off the road and onto the west shoulder hitting Elizabeth Ruhland.
The truck hit a street sign and then a mailbox before fleeing the scene, according to FHP.
