Navarre resident finds historical artifact on Santa Rosa Sound

On July 24, Navarre resident Doug Larson was walking along the Santa Rosa Sound when he stumbled upon a round, brown object. At first, he thought it might be a turtle. Curious, Larson picked up what he presumed would be a shell but soon found out it was spherical. After thinking about it, he came to one conclusion: it must be a cannonball.
Doug Larson found a six pound solid shot, typically referred to as a cannonball, along the northern shore of the Santa Rosa Sound.
