Happy 200 to NAS Pensacola!

Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola is known as the Cradle of Naval Aviation, as it has been training pilots since the 1910s.

While “air” is in the installation’s name, it was important to the U.S. Navy long before planes took to the sky.

NAS Pensacola celebrated 200 years April 24, 2026. The base was originally called Pensacola Navy Yard.
