On Aug. 31, Gulf Power had a transformer struck by lightning causing a fire that ended up breaking off the top of the transformer pole. The HNWS Waste Water Treatment Plant lost power, but the crew was able to maintain operations and prevent sanitary sewer overflows. All affected systems were restored, which kept HNWS members’ services in continuous working operation.
