An accident on U.S. Highway 98 late Sunday afternoon stopped traffic and sent a 35-year-old Pensacola woman to the hospital by medical helicopter, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. She was trapped in her vehicle and had to be cut out by first responders. The accident was a two-car collision near the highway’s intersection with Navarre School Road. The accident happened about 5:25 p.m. The FHP did not indicate whether the other driver, a 35-year-old woman from Missouri, was injured.
