52 years of debate and still no Navarre Pass

In July 1965, a man-made waterway was opened that connected the Santa Rosa Sound to the Gulf of Mexico across a span of Navarre Beach 450 yards west of Navarre Bridge, near the boundary line with Eglin Air Force Base.
