480 acres set for rezoning

Santa Rosa County Commissioners Thursday evening will consider rezoning a 480-acre parcel in south Santa Rosa County that is home to wetlands and at least few endangered or threatened species. The property is owned by a family in Pensacola that is being represented by an Alabama-based development consulting firm.
Santa Rosa County Commissioners will consider Thursday evening a request to rezone 480 acres in south Santa Rosa County just west of Edgewood Drive. A spokesman for the property owner said this is only the first step in a process that could take two years or more before homes are developed.
