23andMe bankruptcy comes with consumer privacy concerns

Attorney General James Uthmeier is issuing a Consumer Alert regarding 23andMe’s March 23rd bankruptcy filing. 23andMe is a direct-to-consumer genetic testing company that collects and analyzes the most sensitive information about individuals: their genetic code.

The company 23andMe’s bankruptcy could put consumer’s privacy at risk with sensitive testing and information. Users may delete their accounts and their test samples.
