$2.50 kids Halloween costumes at Good Neighbor Thrift Store

Looking for fall decorations? Good Neighbor Thrift Store has got you covered and won’t break the bank.

Trying to find the perfect Halloween costume for you or your child? Good Neighbor’s got that too. Adult costumes are $5, children’s costumes are $2.50 and costume accessories such as masks and hats are only $1.

The thrift store also has a food truck frequently parked in their parking lot. So you can grab a bite to eat and then shop for some bargains.

Good Neighbor Thrift Store and Navarre Community Outreach (an affiliate of Navarre United Methodist Church) have partnered to help children in need through the Weekend Food Program. When you shop at Good Neighbor, part of the proceeds go towards feeding hungry children over the weekend.

Weekend Food Program is an outreach food ministry of Navarre United Methodist Church (NUMC) for up to 500 students in Navarre’s schools who need food support over the weekend each week.

When children in need are in school, they can take advantage of the free or reduced meals served on campus. But when they go home for the weekend, some families don’t have the funds to provide three meals a day.

Starting in mid-September, Good Neighbor Thrift Store and Navarre Community Outreach volunteers will pack up to 500 bags weekly containing breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks items.

The bags will be packed on Thursday evenings and Friday morning delivered to schools to distribute to students in need.

If you would like to help pack the food, they are always looking for more helping hands. Volunteers will meet at Hildreth Hall at NUMC every Thursday to help pack food bags, beginning Thursday, September 15 at 5:30 p.m. This process will take place each week during the school year.

To help, please contact the church office at 850-939-2028.

“The school determines who has the most need, and apparently there’s a lot more need than we’re able to fund right now,” Good Neighbor volunteer Chris Johnson said. “So hopefully we’ll be able to expand it in the future, once it becomes more of a community program and not just our church’s program.”

Good Neighbor Thrift Store, We Care Ministries and the Lindy Bush Food Pantry are all ministries of the Navarre United Methodist Church.

If you come to Good Neighbor Thrift Store on a Friday, you’ll find a weekly Friday sale on clothing. All children’s clothing is $1.50 and adult clothing is $2.50, no matter what it is.

Don’t miss out on Good Neighbor’s Treasure Hunt One Day Sales Event Friday, Sept. 2. The store will have extended shopping hours from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be a huge clothing sale. Check out some new items at Friday sale prices.

“Every day that the store is opened, I have something half-priced or a buy-one get-one-free special,” manager Laura Beth Snow said.

The greeter will tell you the Good Neighbor Deal of the Day when you walk in the doors.
The store is open four days a week for shopping – Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

On top of the daily sales, Good Neighbor offers 10% off to all military servicemen and women.
