Unemployment compensation tax rate notice mailed

The Florida Department of Revenue mailed unemployment compensation tax rate notices in December, and the first payments are due March 31. The minimum tax rate for 2011 is .0103, or $72.10 per employee, a nearly three-fold increase over the minimum tax paid in 2010. The maximum rate remains 5.4 percent, or $378 per employee.

Holley Navarre Water Board

At its regular meeting on Dec. 21, the Holley Navarre Water System board heard a report on the progress at the Holley Wastewater Treatment Plant. General Manager Ken Walker reported the work that Vision Construction Co. is doing for the structure was about 80 percent complete. Most of the remaining work involves installing equipment. The completion date is expected to be in April.
