West Navarre Primary gets jolly surprise

| Staff Reporters

Jolly Saint Nick and the Holley-Navarre Fire District paid a visit to West Navarre Primary School on the morning of Dec. 15. Santa Claus arrived sitting on top of a firetruck to the sound of hundreds of students singling “Jingle Bells” as he passed.

Santa and HNFD drove through the school’s entrance road and then circled back to the bus area where more students waited to catch a glimpse of the big guy in red. Some of the students took the opportunity to shout their Christmas wishes at Santa, which included Xboxes, iPhone 11s and golden retrievers.

According to Principal Deanna Blalock, Santa’s visit has been a tradition at the school for at least 15 years. Each year Santa delivers candy canes to every class in the school, making sure that everyone gets their own festive treat.

“I’ve been visiting West Navarre Primary for quite a long time,” Claus said. “It’s always wonderful.”
