Sailors, mark Sept. 10-12 on your calendar for the 31st Annual Juana’s Good Time Regatta.
The Board of County Commissioners approved the event application at its April 27 meeting, including giving permission to allow overnight camper parking in the boat trailer lot through the weekend.
Organizers expect about 200 sailing participants per day.
The event includes two days of sailing regattas and live music, food and drink throughout the weekend. Folks participate from the area and around the country.
Last year’s regatta was one of the first traditional events held on Navarre Beach after months of closures and cancellations due to COVID.
Guards returned to Navarre Beach March 13, just in time for possible spring break crowds and warmer weather.
The Navarre Beach Safety Division is in its third year. There are 30 lifeguards on staff that range in age from 16-61 and they are employed by the Navarre Beach Fire and Rescue.
Crews that keep Navarre Beach maintained for locals and visitors may soon have a little help.
The Tourist Development Council, which met without a quorum Feb. 4, discussed the need for equipment to help the workers move sand under structures and off structures.
