Recycling services temporarily suspended in Santa Rosa County

| Staff Reporters
Beginning Aug. 16, any material deposited into the blue recycling bin and placed at the curb will no longer be collected until further notice.

While recycling is suspended, all recyclables should be placed in the regular grey trash container.

Due to a shutdown at the Emerald Coast Utilities Authority’s Materials Recycling Facility caused by a fire, residential recycling collection services will be temporarily suspended for customers in all unincorporated areas of Santa Rosa County who utilize Waste Pro (the county’s waste collections franchisee).

Waste Pro customers who are currently subscribed to receive recycling collections services will receive a credit on their next billing cycle. The county anticipates that ECUA’s recycling facility may re-open as early as the middle of September, at which time customers will be notified and residential recycling collection services will resume. Residents who utilize non-franchised haulers are encouraged to reach out to them regarding any changes in their recycling collections.
