Plunging into the New Year

Navarre Beach rang in the New Year with a couple of polar plunges, with the Pirate Plunge being held on the Gulf Of Mexico and the Penguin Plunge’n Paddle being held on Santa Rosa Sound. Both events raise money for charity. This year’s festivities saw hundreds brave the cold water.
Pirates on the Panhandle, a fraternal organization that hosts events to raise funds for charity, held their annual Pirate Plunge on Navarre Beach, next to the Pier, on Jan. 1, 2025. Several hundred people lined the beach and dove into the cold Gulf waters to celebrate a new year.
