Navarre Gardens, community celebrate Jim Hawkins, retired fire chief
A crowd of around 30 people crowded into the lobby at Navarre Gardens on Highway 87 S to celebrate the service of James “Jim” Hawkins, a former fire chief in North Carolina who now resides at the assisted living facility.
Jim Hawkins receives gifts from Navarre Beach Fire Rescue Chief Danny Fureigh Wednesday, Aug. 7. The gifts included a commemorative plaque, coins and patches from the fire district.
