Navarre community rallies around family after July 4 house fire

| Hansen Hasenberg

A house fire in the 7600 block of Manatee Street in Holley by the Sea has led to an outpouring of support for the homeowners from members of the Navarre community.

The fire happened Saturday, July 4, just before midnight. Firefighters from Holley-Navarre Fire District and Midway Fire District responded to the scene and battled the blaze, eventually extinguishing it. Despite beating back the flames, firefighters weren’t able to save the roof, which was burned through by the fire. Large amounts of flames and smoke were visible from outside the home.
