Navarre Beach great white necropsy provides opportunity for biologists

When the great white shark which washed ashore on Navarre Beach was hauled off for its necropsy, many people assumed that was the end of the story, but for scientists who study these apex predators, it was only the beginning.
An immature female white shark found on Navarre beach has provided scientists the rare opportunity to collect valuable scientific data. According to a NOAA Fisheries affiliate, this is only the fourth white shark that the Southeast Fisheries Science Center Shark Population Assessment Group has been able to collect biological samples from.
