National Weather Service: Heat dome not directly affecting our area

Ask anyone and they’ll tell you the past few weeks have been hot.

In addition to the typical summer heat, above average temperatures have been seen across Northwest Florida. Across the country, high temperatures have been attributed to a ‘heat dome,’ which is a high-pressure system in the atmosphere which encases heat within the area it is over.
