Mock legislature gives girls a taste of real-life power

Few 17-year-olds understand the sometimes complicated innerworkings of Florida’s legislative process. Even fewer have lived it.

But from June 9-14, four teen representatives from Navarre and Gulf Breeze made their way to Tallahassee to perform their own miniature version of a legislative session as part of the American Legion Auxiliary Girls State conference.
