Midway Water issues Precautionary Boil Water Notice

| Staff Reporters

Midway Water System reported a water main break along Highway 98 Wednesday, June 3. As a result of the break, the system has issued a Precautionary Boil Water Notice.

According to Midway Water, the main break occurred due to contractors hitting main lines and/or a loss of pressure has been experienced.

Therefore, as a precaution, the Midway Water System advises that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes be boiled. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used.

The affected areas include all neighborhoods and businesses along Highway 98 from Bergren Road east to Edgewood Drive. This includes Village Parkway.

This precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until the problem has been corrected and a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink.
