Nathan Alexander Bruce, 24, of the 2000 block of Avenida De Sol in Navarre was arrested Oct. 17 after allegedly hitting his live-in girlfriend with a shoe.
According to a Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, Bruce and the victim were having a verbal argument in the home they shared when Bruce allegedly threw a shoe at the victim, striking the right side of her face.
The argument intensified, according to the victim’s statement, and then, Bruce allegedly grabbed the victim by her arms and threw her to the ground.
Bruce told the deputy he was packing his belongings to leave the residence when the argument began. The rest of his statement is redacted.
Bruce was arrested on misdemeanor battery and felony obstructing justice for allegedly preventing the victim from contacting law enforcement.
He was transported to Santa Rosa County Jail and released Oct. 19 on $2,500 bond.
