Daniel Balsavich, assistant principal at Holley-Navarre Primary School, was unanimously recommended to become the new principal of HNPS at the Dec. 9 Santa Rosa County School Board meeting. “Dan has held many positions in our school district that have prepared him for this moment. He’s worked with some exceptional leaders at Dixon Primary, Dixon Intermediate, at Holley-Navarre Primary, he’s been an elementary classroom teacher and he’s been a coach… He is a ray of sunshine every day and a motivator,”  Dr. Karen Barber, superintendent of schools, said at the meeting.

Balsavich has spent 18 years as an educator in the Navarre and Pace communities. Ten years were spent as a teacher while the other eight were spent as an assistant principal. The last three-and-a-half years as an assistant principal were at HNPS.

“As principal at Holley-Navarre Primary, my goal is to develop and grow our students academically, socially, emotionally and behaviorally in a school that is filled with teachers and staff that are passionate, loving and care for the welfare and success of all of our students. My job is not only to ensure that our students receive a world-class education but to ensure that they all have a love of learning and can’t wait to come back to school for more,” Balsavich said while accepting his promotion before the school board.
