According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at around 7:53 a.m., April 17, an SUV driven by a 59-year-old Gulf Breeze man was traveling east on U.S. Highway 90 near Cooper Lane in Holt. The vehicle left the roadway and continued onto the shoulder, where it struck several mailboxes and a utility pole. The vehicle then continued east and overturned multiple times.
The driver was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. The report states the driver was not wearing a seat belt. Florida Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide is conducting an investigation.
