Flyovers and roundabouts still planned for U.S. 98

This just in: A flyover and roundabouts are still coming to Navarre, but not anytime soon. “It’s not moving forward at this point,” Florida Department of Transportation District 3 Public Information Officer Ian Satter said earlier this month of plans to widen U.S. Highway 98. “We schedule projects based on the (transportation planning organizations’) work priorities and, at the end of the day, (improving 98 through Navarre) hasn’t been a priority.”
This is an artist’s rendering done as part of FDOT’s initial PD&E study of improving traffic flow on U.S. Highway 98 through Navarre. It shows the ‘flyover’ that would extend from Andorra to Ortega streets and the two roundabouts distributing local traffic to the beach and Navarre’s downtown.
