For many, a rug is an afterthought — something to make a room look a little more appealing and serve as a relatively soft cushion between one’s feet and the floor.

While rugs often get overlooked, one Navarre woman has made it her life’s work to turn the rug into an art piece.

For close to 40 years, Capri Boyle Jones has been using traditional rug hooking techniques to create fabric art.
