District championships in basketball will be on the line this week as area teams head into their respective tournaments.
Teams get rolling on Monday. Semifinals are Wednesday and championship games are Friday.

Noah Chin scored late in the fourth quarter, helping to put the finishing touches on Navarre’s 52-44 comeback win over Jay Friday night, his basket sending the student section that adores him into a frenzy.

Navarre’s shot at 22 wins in the regular season in girls basketball was denied last Thursday night.
In a playoff-like battle against the Jay Royals, the Raiders fell short, 45-41, in a hard-fought game featuring two of the best teams in the state.

Raider girls weightlifting team second in region

Maryah Eddy didn’t get a chance to compete in the weightlifting postseason a year ago because of competitive cheerleading.
But she has made up for lost time, including at the Region 1-3A meet Thursday at Pace, taking home runner-up honors in Traditional while placing third in Olympic.

Regional tourney up next for Navarre Raider girls soccer team

Despite falling in the district tournament earlier this month, the Navarre Raider girls soccer team is headed to the regional tournament once again.
The Raiders (10-9-1) are the eighth seed for the Region 1-6A tourney and play top-seeded Niceville (15-1-1) Thursday night at the Twin Oaks soccer complex. Game time is 6 p.m.

What a night it was for former Navarre Raider soccer star Emily (Madril) Sams.
Sams tallied her first international goal and assist for the United States Women’s National Team in a friendly against Chile on Tuesday in Santa Barbara, California.
