Griffin Cerra has been named the Gulf South Conference Special Teams Player of the Week.

It’s the third time this season he has picked up the honor.

Michael Carter played in the 20th game of his NFL career Sunday afternoon and helped the New York Jets beat the Green Bay Packers 27-10 at Lambeau Field.

Carter rushed for 41 yards and had at least one catch for the sixth consecutive game as the Jets extended their win streak to three games.

A stretch of three games that will determine the fate of Navarre’s district championship hopes begins tonight when the Raiders take on Milton.

Navarre is looking to take another step towards its first district title since 2018 when it faces the Panthers in a 7:30 p.m. game at Bennett C. Russell Stadium.

Navarre’s football team has made a big jump in this week’s Region 1-4S rankings.

Its jump from seventh to fifth was fueled by its 38-35 road win over Mosley last week.

Navarre’s road to its first district championship in volleyball in program history begins next Tuesday when the Raiders host Pace in a 6 p.m. District 1-6A semifinal match.

The Raiders are the second seed in the tournament and the Patriots are seeded third. The two teams met once during the regular season, with Navarre winning in four sets.

Abbey Nebarez gets up off the bench during a timeout and talks with the Navarre Raider volleyball players, providing them with insight that once proved valuable to her as a player.

Nebarez, once a familiar sight on the court for the Raiders, now finds herself in a coaching role, and she loves the opportunity she has to be an assistant this season to her former head coach, Ryan Davenport.

Anne-Marie Grant is the perfect example of how fast time has flown for the seniors on Navarre’s swim team.

“Coach Mary (Moorer) taught me how to swim when I was little and here I am now (as a senior),” Grant said.
