Navarre’s roller coaster of a baseball season continued last week as they went 2-1 over three games. After getting beaten by Catholic last Tuesday, the Raiders bounced back and demolished Crestview on back to back nights to even their district record.

Navarre sent six weightlifters to the 2A boys weightlifting meet this past weekend in DeLand, and two lifters placed in the top 10.

Navarre’s softball team split a pair of games last week against two schools from Kentucky. The Raiders knocked off Oldham County 11-10 last Thursday before falling 8-4 to Owensboro on Friday.

Navarre struggled in a loss to rival Gulf Breeze but bounced back in a big way with wins over a pair of schools from Kentucky in a doubleheader. The Raiders, coming off a 5-2 loss to the Dolphins Tuesday, blanked North Oldham 7-0 and earned a 9-4 win over Lafayette.

Christian Brothers decided to get back to competing in the 800-meter run this year.

Navarre’s girls softball team scored two runs in the sixth and seventh innings, but it wasn’t enough as the Niceville Eagles won the district contest by an 8-4 score at Navarre March 26.

Navarre dropped two games by slim margins last week and fell to 5-8 for the season. The Raiders outhit both opponents, but managed just three runs combined in the two contests, losing 2-1 to Southside out of Alabama and falling 4-2 to area powerhouse Tate.

Rod Aldoff was brought back in mid-February to revive a struggling Pensacola Ice Flyers team.
