When Leah Jackson picked off a pass in the third quarter and returned it for a touchdown, carving into the Crestview lead, there was hope for a Navarre Raider comeback in a District 1-3A flag football quarterfinal.

A Thursday night under the lights is how the University of West Florida football team’s Division I era will begin.


The Argos are set to host Southern Illinois in their first D-I Football Championship Subdivision game on Aug. 27 at Pen Air Field.

On the girls side, the Raiders finished fourth, led by a couple of record-breaking performances from Jade Wright.

Navarre’s football team has a change to its schedule for 2026.


Instead of playing West Florida Tech, the Raiders will now travel to Tallahassee on Aug. 21 to play Florida High in week one.

Navarre’s girls lacrosse team is headed back to the regional tournament.

Navarre and Pace are set to head into District 1-3A flag football tournament play.


The Raiders play Monday at home against Crestview while Pace has a first-round bye and plays host to either Gulf Breeze or Tate in the semifinals on Tuesday.

Navarre’s baseball team was in a must-win situation last Tuesday night against Pace in the opening round of the District 1-6A tournament.


Though the Raiders gave a valiant effort, they came up short by a 6-3 score.

Navarre’s softball team is poised at the moment to host at least one regional tournament game next month. Maybe two.


The Raiders love the position they are in but know there is more work to be done.

One day the script will flip for Navarre’s girls lacrosse team and the Raiders will defeat Gulf Breeze to claim a district championship.


For now, the Raiders will have to wait after falling 18-5 to the Dolphins last Tuesday night in the District 1-2A final.
