A federal grand jury in the Eastern District of Michigan returned a ten-count indictment against two defendants for their alleged roles in a forced-labor and money-laundering con-spiracy that victimized individuals in Michigan, Florida, Texas and Missouri. The two defendants, David Taylor, 53, and Michelle Brannon, 56, were arrested today in North Carolina and Florida in a nationwide takedown of their forced-labor organization.

A precautionary boil water notice has been made for parts of Holley Navarre Water System’s franchise area.

Grady Tolbert Road in the Holley area is closed between Rose Street and Chase Street for a water line repair. The road is expected to reopen by tomorrow morning, Friday, Aug. 29, if not sooner. Residents who live within the closed area will still have access to leave and return to their homes.

Santa Rosa County is looking for input from citizens about the proposed Navarre Commu-nity Access Road, which is in the latter stages of a Project Development and Environment Study. The access road, a proposed alternative route to Highway 98, will weave through Navarre from Panhandle Trail to Edgewood Drive with a mix of new road construction and expanding neighborhood roads.
