SRSO investigates murder-suicide in Navarre

A man shot and killed a woman and then took his own life in an apparent murder-suicide in Navarre on Oct. 25, according to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office.

Navarre family builds haunted trail in backyard

One Navarre family is taking Halloween seriously, to the point of having a haunted trail in their backyard.

Jeff and Sharon O’Dell built the trail behind their home on Rosemont Drive. It weaves between terrifying corridors and features actors and other spooky details to scare those who dare to enter. The trail is open to the public on Oct. 30 and 31 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The War Horse Project of the Gulf Coast is a nonprofit that began as an equine therapy farm for veterans. Now, everyone is encouraged to enjoy the benefits of working with horses.

But the project is also now asking for the public’s help to feed the animals on the farm.
