Sheriff’s Office investigating Stand Your Ground shooting

The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left one person injured in the early morning hours Saturday, Jan. 14. At approximately 3:15 a.m. Saturday, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a shooting at the 5500 block of Sea Spray Court in Navarre.

Collectible K9s: Sheriff’s Office hands out specialized cards to community

Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office has gone to the dogs! Or, at least, they are very excited about telling the community about them. The law enforcement agency recently started an initiative to reach out to the community and positively engage them in what the K9 unit does. As a part of that initiative, the Sheriff’s Office has created a special set of trading cards that highlight the various K9s in the unit.

Navarre man facing drugs, weapons charges

A Navarre man is facing multiple felony charges after he allegedly attempted to hide a firearm after the vehicle he was traveling in was pulled over by authorities.

Jeremy Brooks Dolan, 42, of Navarre, was arrested Dec. 26 on charges of possession of methamphetamine over 14 grams, trafficking fentanyl (4 grams or more), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, tampering with evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia, attempt to conceal a weapon during a felony and resisting an officer without violence.

5,000 gallons of sewage spilt in Gulf Breeze

The City of Gulf Breeze spent Wednesday, Jan. 5, cleaning up 5,000 gallons of sewage in the Tiger Point area on Circle Lane and West Avenue.

Following heavy rains early Wednesday morning, staff with the Gulf Breeze Regional Water System recognized a lack of water flow and heightened levels in a lift station leading to the water treatment plant. This caused water mixed with sewage to begin overfl owing from manholes.
