There is a mystery brewing in the aisles of Navarre’s grocery stores.

An anonymous member of Navarre Locals posted a picture of a card they found at Publix in amongst the produce on July 23. Other members of the Facebook group said that they had found similar cards in other stores, like the Neighborhood Walmart.

With the first day of school around the corner, Navarre First Assembly of God held its third annual Day of Hope event last Saturday, July 27. Despite rainy weather earlier in the morning, the turnout for the event still reached 700 people, around the average of the other years.

St. Paul United Methodist Church is in a time of transition and embracing it.

In July, the church welcomed the Rev. Teresa Collier Johnson as their new lead pastor. The Methodist minister replaced the Rev. Christina Shaver, who was appointed to Trinity United Methodist Church in Fort Walton Beach.

Over the past 12 years, Momentum Church’s Navarre campus has emerged from an idea into a growing, service-driven church. Part of how the church has been able to grow is its location, the cafeteria of Navarre High School.

The new pastor at First United Methodist Church of Milton might be a familiar face to some in the Navarre community. The Rev. Dan Morris, 66, began leading the church on July 1. He has spent 44 years in ministry as a pastor and from 2006 to 2011, served as the lead pastor of Navarre United Methodist Church. Currently, Morris’ son, David, is the lead pastor at Navarre UMC.

Just four years into being a house of worship, Replicate Church is making its mark on East Milton’s faith community. Located at 8700 Bobby Brown Road, the church was recently recognized for its service to the community by the Santa Rosa Board of County Commissioners.

Traveling along Highway 87 and Highway 98, you might see a man walking on the roadside with a Bible in his hand. A familiar sight to many, few people know who the man is or why he is always walking around with the good book.

When the Dombrets left Colombia to immigrate to the United States, they always knew they wanted to give back to their birth country. Several decades later, the next generation of Dombrets is following through on that desire.

For the past couple of years, Woodbine Church’s men have been coming together to help teach boys ages 8 to 18 outdoor skills and Bible lessons. The men and boys are a part of Kids Outdoor Zone, a ministry with chapters in numerous churches and communities around the United States.

From differences over doctrine to the traditional/contemporary worship divide, finding a church home can be a challenge. Throw in a linguistic barrier and it can downright difficult. Luckily, for Spanish speakers in south Santa Rosa County, they have Mision Casa.
