In-person Vacation Bible Study back at local churches

This past week marked the official start of summer. After a year of lockdowns and quarantines, local churches offered in-person Vacation Bible Schools.

A large, theater-style backdrop, created by a mother, transformed the platform at First Baptist Church of Navarre (FBCN) into “Destination Dig,” this year’s theme for VBS, which ran in the mornings from June 21-25.

Citizens, Zoning Board argue over church signage

The Santa Rosa County Zoning Board and residents of Bagdad argued over a variance request to allow an internally illuminated sign in the Historic District of Bagdad at a meeting May 13.

The request was submitted by Bagdad First Assembly of God, located at 4513 Forsyth St. After about 45 minutes of discussion, the board recommended to deny the request.
