Circle K offering 40 cents off a gallon for fuel day
Across northwest Florida, Circle K locations will offer 40 cents off per gallon as part of “Fuel Day.” The savings event will run between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday, May 25. Fuel Day is also taking place at Circle K locations across the United States.
According to Circle K, customers can receive the deal directly at the pump. Here are a list of participating locations in Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties:

Publix, retail planned for Bergren Road
Bergren Road will likely see more activity in the next few years as there are plans to construct a shopping complex at its intersection with U.S. Highway 98.
The shopping center will be anchored by a 55,454 square feet grocery store. According to construction plans for the property, the store will be a Publix supermarket.

Town Center public hearing expected later this year
The Navarre Town Center project, a commercial development that has been floated around as idea for about 20 years, is currently under the review by Santa Rosa County Development Services.
According to county records, the plans for the project were officially submitted April 21.

Oilseed cover crop more than cuts the mustard
Higher yields and federal tax credits could make carinata – Ethiopian mustard – a more popular cover-crop choice for Northwest Florida farmers.
Carinata, a sustainable non-food cover crop grown between primary crops, helps farmers protect and improve soil health and also is used to make low-carbon advanced biofuel for the aviation industry and as a supplement in feedstock.

David’s Bridal files for bankruptcy
David’s Bridal and some of its subsidiaries have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The brand’s nearly 300 physical stores and online platforms will reportedly remain open.
The news comes on the heels of the company’s announcement that they would layoff around 9,000 workers nationwide this year, which is an 80% reduction in David’s Bridal’s workforce.

A Navarre staple will soon be serving snow cones to locals and visitors at a second location.
Tommy’s Sno-Balls is opening a new location near the northern corner of Highway 87 and East Bay Boulevard. The new location will be known as Tommy’s Sno-Balls 2.

On Thursday, April 6, Holley Navarre Water System cut the ribbon for a new drinking water supply well off Pinewood Lane in Harold. It is Well No. 7 for the Fairpoint Regional Utility System, which is comprised of three member utilities, of which HNWS is one.

A longtime Navarre Beach concert series is facing an unlikely future.
During the Tourist Development Council’s recent budget workshop, the Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce did not submit a sponsorship request for the Tunes by the Dunes concert series for the upcoming fiscal year.

Santa Rosa Medical Center holds Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive
To help address hunger in the community, and to celebrate National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day April 2, Santa Rosa Medical Center is donating 464 jars of peanut butter, and one jar of jelly, to Feeding the Gulf Coast.
