Application portal open for free and reduced school lunch

| Staff Reporters

With school back in session Aug. 10, now is the time for parents to apply for free and reduced school meals.

According to Santa Rosa County District Schools, the online application portal for free and reduced-price school meal benefits for the 2026-2027 school year opened Friday, July 31, for families in the school system.

The Free and Reduced-Price Meal Program helps ensure eligible students have access to nutritious meals. Families who believe they may qualify are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

Applications must be completed each school year. Approval from a previous school year does not automatically carry over unless a family has received official notification of eligibility.

Families who have already received an email or letter indicating that their child is automatically eligible for free or reduced-price meals do not need to complete an application.

The online application is secure, convenient, and can be completed at: www.myschoolapps.com

“We want to make sure every family who may qualify for meal benefits has the opportunity to apply,” said Karen Barber, Superintendent of Santa Rosa County District Schools. “School meals are an important resource for many students, and the online application process makes it easy for families to apply.”
