Alcohol sales now allowed near schools, churches on Highway 98 corridor

Alcohol will be able to flow a little more freely now in south Santa Rosa County thanks to an amendment to the Land Development Code, which went into effect Jan. 1 after being approved last September.  
Highway 98 businesses which sell alcohol for on-site consumption can now set up shop within 2,500 feet of a church or school (as long as there is a parcel between the business and the church/school). This includes bars, bowling alleys and other establishments which primarily serve alcohol.
