According to Santa Rosa County officials, the area of East Bay Boulevard from Melissa Oaks Drive to Shadow Lake Drive is closed until further notice.
Over the Fire/EMS scanner, several first responders noted the closure was due to the need for the road to be cut into to locate the gas leak and stop it. Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has been notified. There is no timeframe for when the leak will be repaired or when the road will reopen.
The gas leak is at 5588 East Bay Blvd.
