| Staff Reporters
On Feb. 11, Gulf Breeze Police officers responded to the 100 block of Highpoint Drive in reference to a welfare check. The response led to the discovery of two individuals, both deceased, inside the residence.

Circumstances around the deaths are not fully known, but preliminary investigations suggest the incident may have been a murder-suicide. According to Gulf Breeze PD, the identities of the individuals were withheld pending notification of next of kin. Police are still investigating the incident.

“We understand that this news is distressing for the community, and we urge everyone to respect the privacy of the families involved during this difficult time,” Gulf Breeze Police’s statement said. “In light of recent events, we want to take a moment to address the importance of mental health and the resources available for those who may be struggling. It is crucial to remember that you are not alone. Please consider contacting a mental health professional, a trusted friend or family member or a crisis hotline.”
