Tragedy struck the Navarre community Tuesday, Nov. 5, when it was discovered that Steven and Ann Hering died as victims of an apparent double murder-suicide at their home in the Holley by the Sea neighborhood. James (Jay) Hering, one of the couple’s sons, also died. He is suspected of killing his parents and then himself.
Steve and Ann Hering will be remembered as long-time residents of Navarre and contributors to the community.
