UWF forms Office of Military Engagement, appoints retired Navy captain as military liaison

As part of its continuing support and dedication to serving the military, the University of West Florida has formed a new Office of Military Engagement. UWF President Martha D. Saunders has named retired U.S. Navy Capt. Chris Middleton as the president’s military liaison, serving as the primary point of contact between her office and military and defense organizations.
Members of a Special Operations Surgical Team were presented five Bronze Star Medals and a Meritorious Service Medal during a ceremony at The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Alabama, Feb. 13, 2017. The team was recognized for their actions while deployed in support of Operation INHERHENT RESOLVE. SOSTs are surgical teams highly trained in providing life-saving care any time, any place.
