Heithold to receive AFSOC Order of the Sword

Lt. Gen. Brad Heithold, AFSOC commander, was surprised April 29 by a crowd of Airmen who presented him with an engraved invitation to his AFSOC Order of the Sword induction ceremony.

The Order of the Sword is the highest award the enlisted corps can bestow upon an officer for significant contributions to the enlisted corps.

Lt. Gen. Brad Heithold, commander of Air Force Special Operations Command, thanks the assembled Air Commandos for his Order of the Sword induction invitation at Hurlburt Field, Fla., May 2, 2016. The Order of the Sword is the highest award the enlisted corps can bestow upon an officer. Heithold has served as AFSOC commander since July 3, 2014, and this honor recognizes his conspicuous and significant contributions to the welfare and prestige of the Air Force enlisted force, mission effectiveness as well as the overall military establishment.
