180K gallons of untreated wastewater spills at Holley Navarre Water System’s Pepper Drive site
On June 1, Holley Navarre Water System’s Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) suffered a spill of 180,000 gallons of untreated wastewater. The location of the spill was 2190 Pepper Drive, in Holley By The Sea.
According to an initial report sent by HNWS to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, the spill started at 6:30 a.m. and concluded at 2100 (or 9 p.m.). HNWS was first made aware of the incident when Chris Legg, the WWTP operations manager, arrived at the site Saturday, June 1, at 7 a.m.
HNWS’ Wastewater Treatment Plant suffered a spill, which was caused by a main break.
