Marilyn Hess, president of Holi Corp, successfully advocated county commissioners Jan. 22 for a six-month extension to start construction of a $30-million hotel on Navarre Beach.
Only one piece of heavy equipment and a few dumpsters occupy the former Holiday Inn hotel site on Navarre Beach. Construction of a multistory 161-room hotel was supposed to have commenced in mid-January.
