Door to free agency opened in high school athletics

Florida is one step away from opening the door to free agency in high school athletics.

All that is needed now for House Bill 7029 to become a law is a signature from Governor Rick Scott.

The massive education bill, which includes allowing student-athletes to transfer between seasons and be eligible to play right away, was passed Friday afternoon 29-10 by the Senate and 82-33 by the House of Representatives.
