Santa Rosa County Attorney Roy Andrews is drafting an ordinance to “revamp” the county’s system for enforcing code compliance, including stiffer penalties for some offenses.
For example, the fine for a citation issued for illegally placing signage in the county’s right-of-way could increase from $50 to $120.
Larry Sims, a member of the Navarre Beach Beautification Committee praised the effort.
“Any help will benefit us,” Sims said, pointing out he regularly picks up such illegal signage on the beach.
