| Staff Reporters
HURLBURT FIELD – More than 30 years after arriving at Hurlburt Field as a young MC-130E Combat Talon pilot, the former Chief of Staff of the Air Force returned to receive the highest honor the enlisted force can bestow upon an individual.
U.S. Air Force Gen. (Ret.) Norton Schwartz speaks during his Order of the Sword ceremony at the Emerald Coast Convention Center on Okaloosa Island, Fla., Feb.1, 2013. The original Order of the Sword was patterned after two orders of chivalry founded during the Middle Ages in Europe: the British Royal Order of the Sword and the Swedish Military Order of the Sword, which are still in existence today.
