UWF, Seashore discuss possible land swap

The National Park Service’s Gulf Islands National Seashore (GUIS) and the University of West Florida (UWF) Sept. 30 entered into a five-year cooperative agreement which will temporarily provide available office space and housing to the school.

Additionally, talks continue about a possible land swap which could potentially provide UWF with a permanent facility located on the Seashore’s Naval Live Oaks property.

“We’ve joined – locked arms – with UWF to enhance education and learning,” Dan Brown, superintendent of Gulf Islands National Seashore (GUIS), said.
