1st SOMDG participates in disease containment exercise

On Feb. 4, a bus full of simulated sick patients arrived at the 1st Special Operations Medical Group. These patients were greeted by more than seven people dressed in white contamination suits. The airmen from the 1st SOMDG began their annual disease containment plan exercise.
Senior Airman Magnus Russi, 1st Special Operations Medical Group aerospace medical technician, reports his simulated symptoms to Capt. Dawn Souza, 1st SOMDG nurse, during a disease containment exercise on Hurlburt Field Feb. 4. The medical staff focused on the interaction and coordination between multiple units that would be involved in responding to a disease outbreak.
