Tainted eggs didn’t affect Fla. Residents

A recent outbreak of salmonella stemming from tainted eggs has not affected residents in Florida.

Still, in a news release issued last week, officials from the Centers for Disease Control are urging residents not to eat recalled eggs, and to exercise caution when consuming and cooking eggs.

Though the recent incidents appears to be isolated to just three states, the CDC is joining forces with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service to investigate a nationwide increase of salmonella infections.

Sitting casually at a cafeteria table, she seemed relaxed, comfortable even.

She is tall, smiles easily and a trendy sweater is draped over her slender shoulders.  Her makeup is low-key and expertly applied and, save for a slight weariness in her eyes, she might be just another person sitting at a cafeteria table.

Except this cafeteria isn’t located at a shopping mall, or college campus; it’s location is far-removed from where Alexandra ever thought she would be.

AAA offers free rides for residents this weekend

The American Automobile Association, known to most as AAA, and Budweiser will help protect roadways throughout the Labor Day weekend with the “Tow to Go” program, offering anyone – AAA members and non  members – a free “Tow to Go” ride Friday – Monday.
