Back gate poses problems for residents near Navarre High

The only speaker during the public-forum segment of the April 22 meeting of the Santa Rosa County School Board, Navarre resident Etta Lawlor addressed a long-standing issue regarding a district-constructed gate at the back of the Navarre High School property, allowing students free traffic through a vacant lot and onto Bristolwood Circle and into a residential area where she lives.

District vies for $1.2 million DoDEA STEM grant for Navarre-area schools

At its March 22 meeting, the Santa Rosa County School Board announced that it is applying for a Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) grant that could bring a $1.2 million grant to benefit Navarre High School, Holley-Navarre Middle School and Woodlawn Beach Middle School.

PJC approved to offer baccalaureate degrees

The Florida State Board of Education today approved Pensacola Junior College’s application to begin offering two workforce baccalaureate degree programs.

The state approved a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Administration and Supervision with four concentration areas: organizational administration; public safety/public service; healthcare management; and commercial graphic design.
